Hello! Nice to virtually meet you!
My name is Katy and I have been working in online spaces for almost 25 years. I have been a web developer working for companies ranging from small start-ups to massive corporations like the Kronenbourg, Warburtons, Barclays and Royal Mail.
I've also worked in retail customer service and run a couple of pubs!
I started to play the guitar at age 8 and then moved on to the violin. I later got into DJ'ing while working at a pub which sparked by interest in creating my own music which you can use for free in your own projects.
I began writing about productivity, employee morale and small business best practices back in 2002 while working for the boss from hell, and I later moved that over to the site FlippingHeck.com and since then my writing has grown to cover Politics and TV/Film Reviews. I also occasionally drop code snippets over on my blog.
FlippingHeck.com was set up in 2004 to pull together thoughts on small business, self-improvement, motivation and general life hacks.
The site began after Katy struggled to cope with a toxic work environment and began searching for advice on how to deal with what she was going through. To help others in a similar situation she decided to share her findings with the world on a new-fangled thing called a "blog".
Since then FlippingHeck.com has published over 3000 articles and has featured hundreds of writers on a variety of topics from how to paint your home for maximum productivity to how to motivate and reward your employees.
FlippingHeck.com is always on the lookout for new writing talent so please get in touch if you'd like to contribute to the site.

Whether you like it or loathe it politics in inescapable. A lot of people are confused by politics, especially when Mainstream and Legacy Media seemingly twist narratives to promote their own agendas. This is why Katy started Politically Inclined - an online space that tries to bring you unbiased news and explainers in easy to understand language.
Alongside this is a companion YouTube channel which takes a more irreverant look at politics, calling out politicians for their mistruths along with some comedy as well.
You can check out my latest politics video and article below!

Katy's been fascinated by film as far back as she can remember and it lead to her persuing a degree in Media Production where she could study film techniques and make short films, radio shows and more.
She's taken that love of film a started a review website - What Katy Reviewed Next - where she watches things so you don't have to!
I wasn't sure what to expect from the Beetlejuice sequel - I'd seen a trailer for it (linked in the info panel above) but I'd avoided most of the chat about it as I wanted to go into it with a fresh pair of eyes. It had been almost 5 years since I watched the "original" Beetlejuice when I reviewed it for my 31 days of Halloween series back in 2019. You can read my Beetlejuice review here, although I'd note if I was writing it today I would have formatted it a little differently and included a lot more of my thoughts and less of the plot line, but despite that I think it's still a good overview of the first film. Because it had been so long since I'd seen Beetlejuice (that's at least the third time I've said his name - is he going to haunt this...
